Fabbiani to Become New Lazio Sporting Director, Reports Suggest

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Lazio will internally promote Angelo Fabbiani to replace outgoing sporting director Igli Tare.

The 49-year-old Albanian director’s contract expires with the Biancocelesti at the end of next month and his departure is all but certain now, with Claudio Lotito keen to see something fresh after a disappointing few years under Tare.

Tare once impressed with his signings, bringing in players like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto, but recent flops like the deals for Vedat Muriqi and Denis Vavro have disappointed Lotito and Lazio. It’s also no secret that Maurizio Sarri is not keen on the Albanian or his work.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Claudio Lotito believes he’s found a replacement for Igli Tare in Fabbiani, who is currently working as the coordinator of the Lazio Women and youth system.

The 61-year-old Italian was previously the sporting director of Salernitana, staying in the role for eight years during Lotito’s time in charge of the club.
